Combining my background in equity & inclusion, my experience founding a social enterprise that supported young people with employment, housing and mental health, my knowledge of community research, and the community building and organising I do through our housing co-operative I often find myself doing work which is about understanding and developing forms of collective care within a capitalist society where this is no longer normalised.

To support me to move more into this space I participated in a year long Liberation Practice Field cohort which has helped me to understand the design of collective care experiences as a liberatory process and to integrate more somatic and trauma-informed approaches within my work.

Below are some examples of my work in this space but get in touch to learn more about how you and your team or community could work with me to create care-centred approaches. This might include:

  • Designing care-centred HR policies

  • Developing needs based pay structures

  • Building community around particular lived experiences

  • Bringing together different practitioners to support you to embed different forms of care into your community or organisation

I keep coming back to our sessions in my thoughts - many of the things we discussed I had never really discussed in the context of my work and career, and for me was deeply important to honour and give space to. It sparked so many ideas on things I could weave into my work… I felt so immensely empowered by our discussion.

Transformational relationships programme

This 3-session programme is for pairs of people who wish to better understand one another so that you can deepen the change you create together.

In order to care for a wider group of people we need to have sustainable 1-2-1 relationships that we can draw upon for strength, support and accountability.

Case study: Youth programmes

I co-designed and ran 4 different youth programmes for marginalised young people to work alongside freelancers and small businesses on a paid basis.

As part of this we built a community and training opportunities which created opportunities for young people to experiment and learn more about their needs.

We also co-created research on issues that matter to young people as part of this.
