The transformative power of how we relate

A coaching programme for collaborators, co-workers or co-conspirators

A series of three sessions for those in change-making relationships to understand the interplays of their experiences and identify the power and possibilities within the ways we navigate and bring forth complex change in collaboration with someone else.

What does the programme include?
I’ll facilitate 3 x 2 hour Zoom sessions with you and your collaborator across 6-8 weeks. In between sessions we might set some basic work to do on your own time to prepare for the next session - but this will be agreed together.

Session 1: How are we showing up?

During this session I’ll work with you to understand who you both are as individuals, and the journey you have been on to arrive in this place. We’ll look at your own relationship with change, unearthing some of the messy contradictions that might hold you back from working together effectively and identifying some of the shared foundations that can become the strength you draw from on your journey. We might explore questions such as:

  • What lenses do we have on the world, and what lenses does the world put on us?

  • How have we built trust in the past and does that still serve us?

  • How can we be both vulnerable or uncertain, and secure?

Session 2: What energy exists between us?

During this session we’ll look at your respective experiences of the relationship to date. Perhaps you are new to working with each other, or perhaps you have a historical relationship which shapes how you interact with one another today. We might explore questions such as:

  • How do we account for our differences in how we choose to work together?

  • How do we puzzle our pieces together to create the best possible conditions for thriving for both of us?

  • How can we respond to each other with validation, care, patience etc while simultaneously allowing space for transformation?

Session 3: How do we translate that into power within our work and the wider world? 

During this session we’ll use the knowledge generated from the previous two sessions to agree together some approaches and commitments to how we drive change together. We will solidify more principles around how you work and what you work on that enable you both to bring your authentic selves into your relationship, and identify draw on your collective strength to navigate complexity in your work together. We might explore questions such as:

  • What would it take for us to make space for outcomes beyond our imagination?

  • What do we need to pay consistent attention to in order to avoid reverting to status quo expectations or behaviours?

  • If we get this working relationship right what does it enable us to do or experience?

What’s the commitment?

Each session is 120 minutes long, spaced out by 2-3 weeks. You need to be able to commit to this pattern at a minimum in order to get the value from this approach.

I also take a harm reduction approach and recommend that this journey is paired with spaces for you to access individual support and processing - whether it’s your own therapy sessions, personal journalling, physical exercise, or simply a committed friend who is interested in hearing how the programme is going. Having space to process anything personal that comes up during conversations will ensure you are able to continue conversations in a productive way.

What’s the cost?

In my experience value is only generated at a meeting point between people. This is a process invested in by all those involved - not defined in isolation by those supplying services or those receiving them. It is also possible for two people to create the same outcome and derive different value at different times. Products are valued in one way in one context, and entirely differently in another. Given I want my skills to be accessed by different people in wildly different contexts, and given we are all fluid organisms who are both fallible and powerful, I don't believe my rates of compensation should be static, so I offer 3 rates for undertaking this programme.

Basic fee to cover the time I commit: £150+VAT

Bonus fee if significant value is created: £500 -£750+VAT

Bonus fee if you and your workplace wish to extend the value beyond yourselves (i.e. you want me to be able to continue to offer similar flexibility and support those who might not be able to afford as much) - £1,250+VAT
