Individual facilitation coaching

When you are responsible for holding space or processes for others, it is rare that you have space to be held yourself. The coaching I provide is for anyone who facilitates - regularly or sporadically - and wants to be supported to do their best within that role.

The sessions are structured around ‘live’ scenarios so that you have support with preparing yourself before facilitating a space, and opportunity to reflect on what comes up for you after you have facilitated. We can also explore broader questions or work through specific practices to support you to hold specific kinds of conversation or workshop.

I have a wide breadth of experience as a facilitator working with a whole range of group dynamics in many different settings and fields but I have special interests and specific experience in the following:

  • Co-design and participatory processes

  • Conflict mediation

  • Power dynamics and shifting to more equitable practices

  • Neuro-inclusive approaches

  • Creative practices

Ideally I work to a minimum of 5 coaching hours, which equates to roughly a days worth of work for me. But you can split your coaching hours into whatever chunks work best for you - we could do a 2 hour kick-off session followed by 45 minute check-ins, or we could do regular hour sessions.

Transformational relationships

A coaching programme for collaborators, co-workers or co-conspirators

A series of three sessions for those in change-making relationships to understand the interplays of their experiences and identify the power and possibilities within the ways we navigate and bring forth complex change in collaboration with someone else.

We might explore questions such as:

  • What lenses do we have on the world, and what lenses does the world put on us?

  • How have we built trust in the past and does that still serve us?

  • How do we account for our differences in how we choose to work together?

  • How do we puzzle our pieces together to create the best possible conditions for thriving for both of us?

  • How can we respond to each other with validation, care, patience etc while simultaneously allowing space for transformation?

  • What do we need to pay consistent attention to in order to avoid reverting to status quo expectations or behaviours?

  • If we get this working relationship right what does it enable us to do or experience?

What’s the commitment?

Each session is 120 minutes long, spaced out by 2-3 weeks. You need to be able to commit to this pattern at a minimum in order to get the value from this approach.

I also take a harm reduction approach and recommend that this journey is paired with spaces for you to access individual support and processing - whether it’s your own therapy sessions, personal journalling, physical exercise, or simply a committed friend who is interested in hearing how the programme is going. Having space to process anything personal that comes up during conversations will ensure you are able to continue conversations in a productive way.
