Whether we like it or not our interactions and perspectives are shaped by the cultural norms and hierarchies we exist within. Being more conscious of this as we move through the world can help us reduce the negative implications, challenge harmful biases we or others might perpetuate, and start to dismantle unhealthy and oppressive power structures. During this session we’ll use facilitation techniques to explore our relationship with power and understand how our positionality affects our work and develop intentionality around how
Using a reflective practice we’ll explore what our identities represent in the spaces we are in and how that has affected the ways we show up
After discussing power bases and the wheel of power and privilege we’ll devise some 'Wicked Questions’ around the nuances of different interplays of power.
We’ll then use ‘Troika Consulting’ to explore challenges we have in relation to our positionality within the contexts we work in
We’ll reflect using ‘what, so what, now what’ so help us plan what we want to do with the knowledge we’ve gained.
